Aims and Objectives of Red Ribbon Club:
The specific Aims and objectives of the programme are as under:
1. To decrease the number of new HIV infections among youth by increasing their risk perception through education about HIV/AIDS.
2. Involve Youth in activities done and planned by RRCs, channelizing their energy in the right and positive direction.
3. Educate Youth with correct, concise and adequate information and heighten their level of awareness about HIV/AIDS/STI/sexuality and other related issues. In further clearer words to eliminate myths and misconceptions about the same.
4.To maximize youth potential by providing accurate information about HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment.
5. RRC prepares and promotes Youth peer educators within and outside the campus.
6. To strengthen their capacities as peer educators in disseminating messages on positive health behaviours in an enabling environment.
7. To foster in young people a sense of support and assistance for PLWHAs, hence lowering stigma and discrimination against them.
8. To ensure that every college going youth in the state is equipped with conceptual knowledge about various basic health aspects which he may possibly encounter during his life.
9. To instil life skills into youths to live better and healthier life.
10. Increasing the capacity of the educations system in teaching, training of various basic health aspects and helping the adolescents and youth for achieving positive health.
