Vision :

(BBA) in Tourism and Travel Management at a government institution involves aligning educational goals with industry needs and societal demands. "Our vision is to cultivate future leaders in the global tourism and travel industry through a comprehensive BBA program that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, fosters innovation and sustainability, and promotes cultural understanding and responsible management practices. By providing a rigorous academic curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, and industry collaborations, we aim to empower students to become versatile professionals capable of navigating the complexities of the tourism and travel landscape while contributing positively to economic growth, environmental preservation, and social well-being."

The mission of the Department of BBA in Tourism and Travel Management at Government College Bilaspur (H.P) are:"To provide a transformative educational experience that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in the dynamic tourism and travel industry. Through a blend of academic rigor, practical training, industry exposure, and community engagement, we are committed to nurturing ethical leaders who are adept at addressing the challenges and opportunities of the global tourism sector. Our mission encompasses fostering innovation, promoting sustainable practices, embracing diversity, and instilling a sense of responsibility towards local communities and the environment. By leveraging our institutional resources and strategic partnerships, we aim to empower students to excel professionally, contribute meaningfully to society, and uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and lifelong learning."

Objective:

  • To Mould Tourism professionals ideally suitable for serving in all fields of the tourism industry by way of running the academic course.
  • To run academic programs ensuring all round improvement of the Tourism Industry in order to enhance the quality of life of host community by imparting education on tourism benefits and enhancing the experience of tourist through delivery of the quality product and services.
  • To create skills and knowledge bases for the local population to be involved in serving in the tourism industry by way of organizing seminars, workshops and conferences.
  • To educate the people of the benefits of tourism development to their local communities and foster community approach to tourism development by organizing outdoor activities of our students like tourism expeditions, adventure and eco-friendly camps.

Leadership Development Camp (LDC) Report:

  • Objective: To enhance leadership skills and teamwork abilities among students.
  • Activities: Team-building exercises, outdoor challenges, leadership workshops, and guest lectures by industry leaders.
  • Outcomes: Improved communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Enhanced ability to work in diverse teams and adapt to changing situations.

Event Management Training Report:

  • Objective: To develop practical skills in planning, organizing, and executing tourism-related events.
  • Activities: Conceptualizing event themes, budget planning, venue selection, logistics management, marketing strategies, and post-event evaluation.
  • Outcomes: Hands-on experience in event coordination, time management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement. Enhanced creativity and attention to detail in event planning.

3. Research Reports:

  • Objective: To conduct research on various aspects of the tourism sector in Himachal Pradesh and different tourism segments.
  • Activities: Literature review, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Topics may include tourist demographics, market trends, destination development, sustainability practices, and cultural heritage preservation.
  • Outcomes: In-depth understanding of the tourism industry in HP and its sub-segments. Development of critical thinking, research methodology, and analytical skills.

4. Job Training Report:

  • Objective: To gain practical experience through internships or job placements in tourism-related organizations.
  • Activities: Working in hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, adventure sports companies, cultural institutions, or government tourism departments.
  • Outcomes: Exposure to real-world work environments, application of theoretical knowledge in practical settings, and acquisition of industry-specific skills. Plans and organise activities to develop professionalism in the field of tourism and hospitality sector, customer services and time management abilities.
  • These activity reports contribute to the holistic development of students in the BBA in Tourism and Travel Management program, preparing them for successful careers in the tourism industry while also contributing to the sustainable development of the sector in Himachal Pradesh.

Note:

 

  1.  For Course BTA 6-28, students will be required to submit their On the Job training report for training undertaken in any travel organization after the completion of the previous (Vth) semester. The detailed work profile, experience and learning will be explained in the report and the report will include a Certificate of training form the organization where the training was undertaken. The Report will be evaluated by External/Internal Examiner.
  2.  In BTA-6-29, a Comprehensive Final Viva Voce will be conducted for the students to assess their learning of the whole bachelors program. The Viva will be conducted by External / Internal Examiner.
